The ruins of the Castellar de Meca were already studied and described by Escolano, Cavanilles, Pierre Paris, Schulten, and especially by Julián Zuazo, among others.

According to the experts, it was inhabited since 400 b. C. to 200 a. C. when it was destroyed by the Romans

It was built in an inaccessible and fortified place.

It has carriage roads excavated in the rock, with various branch lines. The marks of the carriage wheels are clearly visible.

There are also cisterns and silos excavated in the rock.
