El Castellar de Meca is an archaeological site of the Ibers (from 400 b.C. to 200 a.C.). It was declared «Monumento Histórico Artístico» by the Spanish Government the 3rd of June of 1931.

It is located in the eastern extreme of the Mountain Range of «El Mugrón», at 1.050 m above the sea level.

It occupies approximately an area of 800 m by 350 m.

The most outstanding of the site are the carriage roads, the cisterns and the silos excavated in the calcareous rock.

Visiting the site takes around 3 hours, and you must climb on foot to the top of a mountain with an unevenness of 170 m from the bottom to the top, and with some dangerous strecthes. Please walk with caution. The visit is not suitable for children or ancient people.

The whole site is inside a Private Property.
